Created in a scottish style, this athame features a thin blade with a matt finish cross guard and pommel with pentacle,Β and has a carved herringbone pattern black handle. This athame can be used by many traditions for many purposes. Has black sheath: 7 1/4" - with 4" blade.
The athame represents the magical element of fire, associated with the Sun and the Horned God. The athame in magickal practice is used like a wand to focus and project the energies of the witch. When the athame is combined with the chalice they represent the union of God and Goddess, male and female, sun and moon, fire and water.
The pentacle is perhaps one of the most recognizable symbols that Wiccans and Pagans use. The base symbol is the five-pointed star, which can be drawn non-stop without lifting pen from paper. Enclosing the pentacle is often a circle. For many Wiccans and Pagans the pentacle is a symbol that represents magic and magical workings as a whole. For others itβs used as a talisman, a connection to the divine, to open and close circles and a myriad of other ritual uses.
